Scream and Shout is a 2019 biographical drama film about Andrey Vizinsky, lead singer of the Margovyan rock band The Real Deal. It was directed by Ivan Maryanov based on a screenplay by Tarik Falafelov and produced by Maryanov and Godofredo and German Orfanov. It stars Vladimir Afanasyev as Vizinsky, with Polina Cherkashina, Aleksei Ismailov, and Yan and Borislav Yanev in supporting roles. It was produced by Godofredo Mariano Productions and distributed by Margovyan National Pictures. The film follows Vizinsky's life from the formation of The Real Deal to the band's surprise appearance in Tidzhomov Music Productions' Great Continental Tour 2000, their last concert before Vizinsky's fatal road accident.

Plot

After getting eliminated from the 1994 season of Svolochy Showdown, Andrey Vizinsky decides to form a band with his best Pyotr Shevchenko and fellow eliminated Svolochy Showdown contestant Marvik Rondayev and his brother Aleksei. They start performing at a college bar near Ikanua State University but do not get regular gigs until they volunteer to stand in for Ballerina City, who could not get to the venue in time due to an accident. At their gig, when Vizinsky notices the crowd growing cold, he begins to sing a song that he had written himself. The crowd begins to dance again, and Vizinsky is motivated to belt out other songs he had written.

Vizinsky's brother Mark surprises Andrey on his birthday with a soundproof room the former had built in their house to serve as a studio. Mark, who had seen Andrey performing his own songs with his band in the bar, urges his brother and the band to record an album that they can send to the country's major music labels and hopefully help land them a recording contract. Andrey and the band do so and complete an album which they title The Raging Fire. The band members distribute copies of their album during their gigs as well as send demo tapes to the big record labels of Margovya. Andrey expresses his belief that soon enough they will become the biggest rock band the country has ever seen.

The band are invited by Wagner Brothers Studios executive Vladislav Filippov to discuss about their album. Initially excited, the band then discover that the only reason Filippov called them over is to humiliate them for making what he describes as "a poor excuse of an album" and tells them to just kill themselves instead of dreaming of making it big. Vizinsky promises that he and the others will make Filippov and Wagner Brothers regret their words before leaving.

Three years later, The Real Deal are still performing in the same bar near the university, and their are barely famous outside of Ikanua and even Svelovsk itself. Andrey has taken a job in a nearby record store as a cleaner, still thinking of revenge against Wagner Brothers. One day, a girl goes into the shop to browse cassettes, and while Andrey ignores her at first she gets his attention when she begins humming a song from The Raging Fire. Andrey introduces himself as the vocalist of the band behind the album, and while the girl doesn't really believe him she still introduces herself to him as G.

Andrey decides to take another shot at Svolochy Showdown and goes to the live auditions, where he crosses paths once again with G, whom Andrey learns also wants to be a contestant in the show. They both make it through to the One Judge Judgment and the Final Countdown, progressing through the ranks and remaining safe every week thanks to their singing abilities. However, after singing "Endless Love" as a duet, G becomes part of the Bottom 2 and is subsequently eliminated after getting the lower score from the three judges. Andrey comforts G after her elimination, but G tells him to keep on singing in the competition for the both of them.
